Jnana Mudra: Knowledge Gesture

“Your health is, quite literally, in your hands…”

Jnana Mudra – The Mudra of Knowledge
Quadrant: I → I (Upper Left to Upper Left)
Domain: Deep Inner Subjectivity · Authentic Self-Awareness

How to Form the Mudra
Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger, forming a circle.
Let the other three fingers extend outward, relaxed but alert.

Symbolism & Meaning
Jnana means “knowledge” — this is the classical gesture of meditation, self-inquiry, and awakened insight. The thumb represents the Universal Self (Brahman), the index finger the individual self (Atman). Their union symbolizes realization of inner truth: “I am That.”

Application & Use
Practice in seated meditation, or anytime — sitting, standing, or lying down. No specific time requirement: it can be used whenever awareness calls.

Physiological Effects
The thumb tip contains centers linked to the pituitary and endocrine glands. Gentle pressure from the index finger activates these glands, enhancing overall mental clarity.

Benefits
Boosts memory and sharpens the brain, improves concentration, and prevents insomnia. When practiced regularly, it will cure all psychological disorders — including anger, depression, hysteria, and other mental disturbances

Functionality
This mudra completes the circuit within the “I” quadrant — confirming the inner recognition that the deepest self is already whole. It is a seal of gnosis, aligning the practitioner with the witnessing awareness and unconditioned truth of their own being.
