Premise: The Starting Point in One’s Sequence of Reasoning

The phrase “sequence of reasoning” refers to a logical and sequential series of thoughts or arguments that lead from a premise to a realization that reinforces the starting point. It is like a link of ideas, where each link (or step) in the sequence connects logically to the next, forming a cohesive argument or rationale. This tool is often used in critical thinking, debate, philosophy, and scientific inquiry to ensure that arguments are structured, coherent, and logically sound.

Here’s how a sequence of reasoning typically works:

Premise: Starting point
The sequence begins with a premise; a statement or fact assumed to be true for the purpose of the argument.

“Life is great, therefore I Live fully..”

Logical progression:
From the initial premise(s), subsequent steps are derived through logical reasoning. Each step naturally and logically follow from the previous one, ensuring that the sequence remains unbroken and coherent.

Links in the sequence:
Each link represents a step in reasoning, which may involve deductions, inferences, or conclusions drawn from the preceding steps.

Realization:
The last step is the realization; the logical result of all the preceding steps in the sequence. The strength of the realization depends on the integrity of the entire sequence; if any step is weak or illogical, the realization may be flawed.

A well-constructed sequence of reasoning is crucial for persuasive arguments, problem-solving, and decision-making, as it ensures that conclusions are not only supported by evidence but also arrived at through a clear and logical process.

The idea is that our current “sequence of reasoning” is what limit or liberates us,—by defining, or altering the Premise, the starting point, we elevate our current “sequence of reasoning” to the logic and the outcomes of highest standard.

We should hence ask ourselves the question, “To which ‘sequence of reasoning’ do I belong?” since this ultimately influences all the outcomes of our lives.

“Life is great, therefore I Live fully..”

Thus, define, or alter the Premise, in the Spirit of Adventure, The Guide
